Web client will not load

Postby skycrzr » 08 Sep 2017 21:18

Hi,

I am running ubuntu 16.04, headless setup. I am using this guide to complete the install: https://www.linuxbabe.com/ubuntu/instal ... -04-deluge. I am accessing the server via SSH from a workstation on the same network (192.168.0.0/24). Server: 192.168.0.250, workstation: 192.168.0.2.

The instructions are basically the same as the official instructions, but I am having an issue launching the webclient after grabbing from git. I can't access it locally using Lynx or on a workstation PC on the same network.

I start the script as normal user

'python /var/www/CouchPotatoServer/CouchPotato.py &'

And confirm it is running

'$ ps aux | grep Couch'
myusername 8581 0.0 0.1 1876536 60000 pts/6 Tl 14:01 0:00 python CouchPotato.py

And confirm it is listening on 5050

'$ netstat -anp | grep 5050'
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:5050 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 8581/python

And then try to TEST access to the wizard using Lynx:

'lynx http://localhost:5050/'

or

'lynx http://192.168.0.250:5050/'

and even try accessing it from the workstation on the same network using Chrome. Locally on the server, using Lynx I get the following message

"HTTP request sent; waiting for response"

and then it just sits there indefinitely. The interesting thing is I can see the active connection via netstat while this is happening, yet I get no webpage.

Any ideas?

Thank you!

Looking at the posts in this forum, it looks like its a ghost town, posts sitting for days unanswered. Is couchpotato in active development?

FIXED: Was permission issue. Needed to run the CouchPotato.py as root to complete wizard. Weird because ALL directories were set to my unprivileged user.
