Then delete the settings.conf and try starting CouchPotato.

If you still get this, you can try searching your hard drive for settings.conf to see if this is located anywhere else.

After some hair pulling, I decided to restart the PC. Whaddya know. it works now. lol
I should have done this before coming from an IT background

thanks for your help

Good night,
I have a problem in using Raspberry PI + XBMC + Time Capsule Airport + CouchPotato + Transmission.
In CouchPotato in "rename" I do not seem to find the directory of airport time capsule. I need to transfer the movies from the Transmission and move them to the directory of the Time Capsule Airport. Could someone help me?

Within the XBMC I can watch movies within the airport by directory: smb: //192.168.0.14/data.

Hear that I have to edit the file to add settings.conf. However found the settings.xml file in the directory "OPENELEC._smb._tcp.local / Userdata / addon_data / service.downloadmanager.SickPotatoHead / settings.xml" with content below:

<settings>
<setting id="COUCHPOTATO_LAUNCH" value="true" />
<setting id="HEADPHONES_LAUNCH" value="true" />
<setting id="RESTART_ON_RESUME" value="true" />
<setting id="SICKBEARD_LAUNCH" value="true" />
<setting id="SICKPOTATOHEAD_IP" value="0.0.0.0" />
<setting id="SICKPOTATOHEAD_PWD" value="" />
<setting id="SICKPOTATOHEAD_USER" value="" />
</settings>

How do I edit the file to retrieve rename my films and puts them in the time capsule ip 192.168.0.14?

I really need help

can someone please help me find this on my qnap...
/share/MD0_DATA/.qpkg/CouchPotato2/config/

I dont see it nor know how to find it.

I have noclue how to get to the settings.conf and have been reading about it for 3 days, amongst other things CP related, and Im worn out.
Im trying to add my movie folder from my qnap nas, but all the folders it offers me appear me like hidden folders, none of my actual NAS folders are there. However, i do see such folders as 'git' which i do have installed, so im thinking it is seeing my nas, its just not allowing access, which leads me back to the settings.conf

much appreciated,

Hi guys :)

so I am using OpenMediaVault and looking for the log files of CouchPotato (the real ones, not the one in the WebGUI)
I found the plugin in \opt\couchpotato\ but cant seem to find the log files themselves. Can someone give me a pointer?
And what file format is being used?

Thanks very much! And a nice evening!

in web gui, settings, about there will be 2 directories listed. the first is where CouchPotato is installed (\opt\couchpotato) the second directory listed will be the data directory, this directory contains a log directory.

Thanks so much. I found the log files under /home/couchpotato/.couchpotato/logs/
